New Track: Impertinent

Nick and I have been hard at work in the studio and we’ve got something new for you!

Impertinent

Length: 2:47

Personnel:

  • Andrew Jensen – Samples, Drum machine, Electronics
  • Nick Jensen – Tenor Saxophone

Nick and I struggled to find a name for the track, so we decided to go on a dictionary hunt. (of course!) We decided that “impertinent” fit the style of the song. It’s kinda noisy, strange, and…impertinent. I still think it’s cool, though.

What does that mean? Here’s what the Wiktionary has to say about the word “Impertinent:”

Impertinent
Adjective

  1. irrelevant
  2. insolent, ill-mannered

Anyways, enjoy. Brownie points to whoever can name the songs I sampled!

  2. Love the track bro. You and your brother did a dang good job. Love the intro. Especially how you build up the intensity of the track. I like how it builds up at the end and boom it then fades away. Sounds like my state of mind :P

  3. Nice work as usual Jensen — I liked the contemplative lead-in, and though I was a little put off by the sequence about 1/4th the way in where its just the dah-duh-dah, 3-note sax/clari(?) bit repeated a whole bunch, the percussive build-on from there was sweeeeet. Like the explosion at the end too. Keep it up man.
